Theoretical framework for organisational analysis

The SEAD processes aim to:

  • assess programme Quality, Alignment, Sustainability and Performance
    (QASP);
  • provide feedback to funders and implementers for programme optimisation; and,
  • recommend new strategies.

SEAD has a rigorous theoretical framework, and uses the QASP© not-for-profit, four- level bottom-line methodology to assist organisations towards a new level of service to the benefit of their respective target sectors.

SEAD has developed innovative tools and methodologies to evaluate programmes including HIV/AIDS and TB, climate change and biotechnology programmes within organisations, governments, not-for-profit initiatives and private companies in order to develop high-level organisational strategies. These vary from voluntary counselling and testing, HIV treatment and care programmes to laboratory services, primary health care programmes, educational organisations and professional bodies.

The tools are designed to perform a broad, whole-organisation evaluation and to give funders and implementers the opportunity to assess the overall strategy and alignment of the intervention. The process leads to recommendations and the raising of strategic opportunities.

Organisations are evaluated from a developmental perspective. The aims of
evaluation are organisational sustainability, achieving impact, optimising and aligning activities, maximising results whilst building capacity and strengthening leadership and systems.
