Strategic Evaluation

SEAD has developed innovative tools and methodologies to evaluate HIV/AIDS (and other) programmes within organisations, governments, not-for-profit initiatives and private companies and to develop high-level organisational strategies. These vary from voluntary counselling and testing, treatment and care programmes to laboratory support programmes.
The modules are designed to give funders and implementers the opportunity to assess the overall strategy and alignment of the intervention.

The tools are designed to perform a broad whole-organisation evaluation. The evaluation process does not replace other detailed assessments which focus on analysis of specific areas.

The process leads to recommendations and the raising of strategic opportunities for organisations to optimise and align their activities with the overall aim of systems strengthening and enhanced sustainability.

The following example (using the voluntary counselling and testing tool) gives an idea of the breadth of the assessment.
